 James
Becht received his
Bachelor of Science
degree in chemistry with
honors from College of
the Holy Cross and
graduated from Tufts
University School of
Medicine in 1983.
Dr. Becht completed an
internship in Surgery
and Medicine at Waltham
Hospital in 1984.
Afterwards, he completed
a residency in Radiation
Oncology at
Massachusetts General
Hospital in 1987 and
served as the Chief
Resident from 1986-1987.
During residency, he
also served as a
clinical fellow in
Oncology with the
American Cancer
Society’s national
office in New York, NY.
After completing his
training, Dr. Becht
joined Radiation
Oncology Associates in
1987. He obtained
expertise in prostate
seed implants at the
Northwest Prostate
Institute, and he and
Dr. Sheldon have
developed a
comprehensive prostate
seed service, performing
more than 1,000
procedures since 1996.
Dr. Becht served as the
medical director of the
Seacoast Cancer Center
and currently serves as
the director of the
clinical cancer
conference. He currently
focuses on further
improving cancer care
and program development
at both the
Wentworth-Douglass
Hospital and the Elliot
Hospital. He currently serves as the director of the clinical cancer conference at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. |
